The Huntsman series, is five paintings I created for Exhibition(1) of my MA. This work was an development from my previous MA portfolio studies. It was essential these paintings were displayed on a grey background. This mid tone, enhanced the paintings. Where a white or black would only result in a strong contrast, washing out the mid-tones of the images.

The main principle behind this work, was to create three elements within the painting; the sky, the trees and the ground. With a restricted palette and a collaborative style I aimed to create unity with the images through a range of compositions.  The format is inspired from film stills.
